Our Pig in a Bun served with crisp green salad and a tasty potato option and coleslaw — known as our Snack Menu — works brilliantly for everything from family garden get‑togethers and birthday parties to casual celebrations or corporate team‑building days.

Spit roasted pig
Roasted from fresh at your venue

Served with apple sauce, stuffing, and crispy crackling
Large soft flour baps, and brioche rolls

You will love the way cook it and serve it; spit roasted for the focal attraction.

The back end and loins will be carved and sliced for those who like the leaner meat, and the belly and meat from inside the ribs kept separate for those who like the taste of the juicier parts of the hog.

The shoulders will be cooked off for a little longer while the hog is resting and then forked from the bone. They will then be shredded and marinated with a couple of sauces and marinades:

Jack Daniels Smoky BBQ sauce and Chilli and mint

The ribs will be marinated with BBQ sauce for those who like to gnaw on the bones and don’t mind sticky fingers!

Last but not least…. crunchy golden crackling! 

All our menus are available with pork, lamb, chicken, turkey, or BBQ.

Halloumi / Tofu stacks / Vegetable tart / Veggie and vegan sausages & burgers / Falafel wraps

Green salad & Crunchy rainbow slaw

Potato salad / Hot new potatoes with dill / roasted new potatoes with rosemary & garlic / seasoned wedges

Or

Seasoned roasted Mediterranean vegetables with your choice of hot potatoes

We will cater for all dietary requirements you require, including gluten free and dairy free

–   Catering marquee and lights
–   Food served buffet style

All of our rubbish to be cleared away by Herts Hog Roasts staff and taken off site.

Mini BBQ

Sausages, Burgers, or both (costs a little extra)

Our Butchers own home made 7” sausages served in large dog rolls with onions and sauces

Or / And

100% quarter‑pound beef burgers served in a seeded or brioche bap, with lettuce, cheese, tomato, gherkin, onions, and a selection of sauces and relishes.

Upgrade plates and cutlery to palm leaf plates and wax coated cutlery. (Costs a little extra)

Palm leaf plates look great and give a more sophisticated feel and fit well with the hog roast or BBQ theme. Also, as you’re probably aware, plastic cutlery is no longer an option and generally wooden cutlery is now used by all outside caterers as in our relaxed menus. However, we can provide wax coated wooden knives and forks which help get rid of the woody lollipop taste that you can get with disposable wooden cutlery.

Slow roast option (same cost as spit)

As well as our spit menus, we do offer slow roast options as well…. You don’t get the focal effect of the pig on a spit, but it more than makes up for it with the taste!!

We will slow roast the pig on a much lower heat for about 16 hours… The meat will just pull off the bone and mixed with the juices for a flavour to savour.

We will still offer a few marinades and sauces, but it tastes so good as it is, you don’t really need anything else.

The slow roast option is also an alternative when times accessing the venue maybe difficult due to having to arrive on site 6 hours before serve time with the spit option, or if access is narrow (less than 76cm) and cannot accommodate the spit machines which are a bit wider.

We would love to give you an accurate price of the menu on the website, but prices depend on many factors such as number of guests, venue, date, congestion zone, or ULEZ zone. So please enquire on the contact form with as much info as possible and I will send over an accurate quotation for your chosen menu.
