A little introduction to all of us at Herts Hog Roasts

Hi…. I’m Karen and owner of Herts Hog Roasts, I started my hog roast catering business around seven years ago after being wowed by the spectacle of a spit roast in Hemel Hempstead at a good friends 40^th birthday party. The hog roast filled the garden with the most tantalising aroma and the focal effect of the pig slowly rotating and roasting in front of my eyes throughout the evening made my mouth water. I could not wait for serving time to get stuck into the crispy crackling and succulent sweet tender pork which was served with sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce with a touch of cinnamon.

I was not disappointed and decided that this would be my next adventure…….

I previously worked full time mainly as a chef so am completely at ease with all aspects of cooking  from intimate parties, serving homemade canapés and a la carte menus to working in a school kitchen and catering for a couple of hundred school children wanting three or four choices of all courses. So whatever your event or occasion, I am not daunted by the numbers of guests, and relish the buzz and challenge of providing quality catering for any event from a private party in your back garden to a sit down lavish wedding banquet.

As I said earlier I have mainly been a chef throughout my career but have dabbled in a few things on the side and had a very successful bouncy castle business for ten years but after the hog roast experience, I knew that hog roast catering in Hertfordshire and spit roast catering in Bedfordshire, as well as BBQ catering in London was the direction my nose wanted to follow.

Over the years I have built up a team of amazing chef’s, catering assistants and waitresses that have what it takes to make your event one to remember for all the right reasons. My staff are amazing…. They all have their own jobs and most are actually chefs by trade.

What makes Herts Hog Roasts stand head, shoulders and trotters above all other hog roast caterers in Hertfordshire is our passion for food, fun, and generally life!!  My chefs and staff all work during the week but have a genuine love of entertaining and  just love the buzz of outside catering and the thrill of wedding catering…. Of course I do pay them which I suppose is one reason they work for me, but I can honestly say they really do enjoy wedding catering and especially hog roast catering.

Herts Hog Roasts are based in Hemel Hempstead so are ideally located close to major road links of the M1 and M25 for hog roast catering in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the Home Counties and around London.  We are big enough to cope with most events from intimate hog roast garden parties to grand hog roast weddings but still small enough to care and offer a personal service. We only offer what we know we are capable of and will not promise the earth unless we are confident we can deliver the results so you can be assured your catering is in the safest of hands and you can sit back, relax and enjoy your special day while we help make your event, ‘the event’ that everyone is talking about for all the right reasons!!
